Bio and History
Nicholas Girling has a natural connection to art and design. Wth a love for mid 20th century poster design and expressive art, he studied Design at Monash university Melbourne as a formal way of exploring art with both hand made and computer aided creativity. Graduating in 1994. With a degree under his arm, and a life long love for art, he began a career in art and design.
Nicholas has worked as an art director and as a creative director for several years. He has continually worked within the creative profession for well known brand names and studios around Melbourne including his very own. After completing his formal education, Nicholas now focusses his artistic efforts on understanding what it is to have an innate painting style and explores his own ideas relating to intuitive artistry.
Nicholas works as a creative director at his own pre eminent design studio in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and is cofounder and co-owner of Printspace® – An international art print studio since 2008. Nicholas has recently collaborated with RMIT university on as a creative leader, providing professional insights and suggestions for creative education. Over decades he studied, practiced and explored creativity with; pastels, watercolours, life studies, airbrushing, painting and digital art.
Nicholas has never stopped painting from when he was a small child.
Nurtured by his family and has always considered his connection to art as a vocation even though that sounds a bit wanky it is true.
